It has been reported that Kentucky Downs took in $12.5-million in wagers through its slots-like 'instant racing' machines in the month of February
, according to an article by the Lexington Herald-Leader.
The strong attraction to the machines led to a 14.5 per-cent increase in comparison to January.
Kentucky Downs is currently the only raceway in the state operating the machines, but Ellis Park for thoroughbreds is expected to offer the slots-like machine this coming April.
Instant Racing machines see bettors wager on unknown, previously-run horse races, which are also referred to as 'historical races.'
