According to Kentucky Downs, 'Instant Racing' is proving to be a hit. The thoroughbred raceway has seen the handle on the slots-like historical racing machines at its facility rise 56 per cent from September to October
.
An article by the Lexington Herald-Leader explains that the track has said $4.34 million was pumped into its roughly 200 machines in the month of September. That number rose to $6.77 million in October.
The report has quoted Kentucky Downs president and Corey Johnsen as saying that the positive response to the track's instant racing is not just a financial boost, but that it's "going to be a morale booster as well."
