Live harness racing will be returning to Alberta next week after the province’s reopening process forced a delay to the 2021 season.

Trot Insider has learned that the finish order of the 2019 Don Byrne Memorial has been changed after an appeal from the connections of the disqualified winner Rockin Mystery.

A quick glance at the 2021 race date calendar indicates that Alberta's harness racing industry was slated to resume activity this weekend. That launch will have to wait, according to officials.

Once circled to the lead, Canadian Pharoh kept command to the finish of a 1:53.2 mile in the $9,000 featured pace on Saturday (Dec. 5) at Century Mile.
