Louprint, the seasonally perfect 2025 Pepsi North America Cup winner and highest ranked male pacer in the sport, will return to action this week after emergency surgery sidelined the standout sidewheeler for the past month.
The son of Sweet Lou-Rockin Racer is unbeaten in five races this year, with his most recent triumph coming in the million-dollar Pepsi North America Cup on June 14 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. He has hit the board in all 15 career starts, winning 12 and earning $1.6 million for driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr., trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Phil Collura and Larry Karr.
On Monday, July 7, Louprint was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a testicle.
“They were able to get him into surgery right away and removed the testicle without any compromise of his intestines,” said co-owner Mark Weaver in July. “The best case scenario is that he would miss a few weeks, but we’ll let his recovery determine the timeline."
According to trainer Ron Burke, Louprint will qualify on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at The Meadows to prepare for his return to competition in harness racing's glamour boy division. Burke told Trot Insider that the current plan is to qualify on Tuesday and then assess if another qualifier is needed before a return to the racetrack on Aug. 30 in the fourth leg of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at The Meadows.
The Pepsi North America Cup win was an emotional one for Louprint's trainer and driver, each of whom have suffered recent losses in their lives. To read the story on Louprint's historic Cup win from the July 2025 issue of TROT Magazine, click one of the following links:

With all of the time that he's missed this year, I hope that Louprint will be back to race again next year at age 4.
