The Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey (SBOANJ) and Meadowlands Racetrack have announced plans to create new races for the last weekend in July and the first weekend of August 2027 at The Meadowlands.

The proposed race cards will once again bring some of the best horses in the sport to the Big M and continue a half-century tradition of offering premier summer stakes races for harness racing participants and fans in conjunction with the Hambletonian Society.

Full details will be provided in the weeks to come.

"The SBOANJ and The Meadowlands want to share this news now so breeders in the Garden State and owners everywhere understand before this fall's yearling sales that we are working together to ensure the continuation of world class racing at The Meadowlands," stated the SBOANJ in a press release on Friday, Sept. 4. "This is not just for the success of the track and New Jersey racing but to help the future of the Standardbred industry."

The SBOANJ and Meadowlands will release updates as they finalize the complete details for these special weekends of racing.
