The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has updated the situation regarding the workers within the slot machine gaming area at Woodbine Racetrack, stating that the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. employees will now be in a legal position to strike on May 27.
The update comes courtesy of a report by citynews.ca, which cites email correspondence on the issue from PSAC Executive VP Sharon DeSousa.
"PSAC takes the position that the OLG should come back to the table and bargain the issues that workers have identified as a priority,” DeSousa wrote in the email.
“Both the tentative agreement and employer’s final offer were rejected because workers want a collective agreement that provides job security, work/life balance (which does not include being on call 24/7 for the OLG), and improved compensation.”

I am in full agreement with the PSAC workers. If the OLG executive can give themselves huge increases then they should start to think about the everyday workers lives as well.
