SC Rewind: Picture Parade

SC Rewind: Picture Parade

In this week's Rewind column, Robert Smith presents the monthly feature known as Picture Parade. He has chosen a number of nice old photos for your viewing and "guessing" pleasure, if you wish. They all have a common theme. You can pick one or all; not many rules or restrictions apply.

With this year's Hall of Fame induction night recently concluded, I have selected a number of pictures of current HOF members, most of which may go back quite a ways. These photos were chosen at random and may contain individuals from various categories within the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame. Have fun!

Picture Parade

1 - Two for the price of one. Who do we have here for starters?

Picture Parade

2 - This fellow did a lot of different jobs, and he's shown here during an action moment. Who is he?

Picture Parade

3 - These two fellows should be pretty easy to solve. Who are they? This photo goes back about 55+ years, somewhat before they attained HOF status.

Picture Parade

4 - If these two chaps look a bit alike, it's with good reason. Name them if you can.

Picture Parade

5 - Quite a threesome, and all very deserving HOF members. Who are they?

Picture Parade

6 - This gentleman did it all, and he's shown here after winning a big race, which was his specialty. Who do we have?

Picture Parade

7 - The driver is the question here. His HOF membership goes back a very long way. Who is he?

Picture Parade

8 - Two members, and both are probably pretty recognizable. Who are they?

Picture Parade

9 - Shouldn't be too much guessing here, but if you're looking for a sure thing, here it is!

Picture Parade

10 - The horse is the subject here. This horse seldom raced in Canada, but his owners were "from the land of the maple leaf." This fellow helped usher in harness racing in a big way following WWII. Who is it?

(The correct answers will be posted here by Robert as a comment in a few days.)

Blast From The Past

Blast from the Past

In this very old photo, taken in about 1936, there are no less than three future Hall of Famers pictured. Can you identify them? The odd man out is on the far right at the horse's head. The location was Orangeville.
