.

Pierce, who took part in a meet and greet session with fans prior to the card, earned his first of five wins in the third race with Abigail Eden ($9.30) for trainer Jamie Wilson and headed right back to the winner's circle after guiding the Marvin Frank-conditioned Passion R Virginie ($4.60) to victory in the following race. Pierce also scored back-to-back wins in the sixth and seventh races with Flight Night ($4.30) for France MacLean and Chasing Connor ($5.40) for Mike Noble, and later concluded the card with his fifth win aboard the Noble-trained Digam ($3.40).

Can anyone tell me why Ron Pierce isn't in the Canadian Horse Racing Hall Of Fame? Is there a single Canadian race of value he HASN'T won?

Ron Pierce is by far my favourite driver and I wish him great success in the Breeder's Crown.

He still has to get them to the wire first. Watch the top drivers on the WEG circuit and how they drive the 3 to 5 shots. As far and as fast as they can go and a lot stop because of the drive.

Pierce won 5. Anyone surprised? I love watching Ronnie race. He's a great driver and always gives you a shot at cashing a ticket. If I still owned horses he could drive mine anytme as well.

You don't suppose some of them were 2-1 or 5-2 (Or odds on!) BECAUSE Ron was driving??
I noticed that there were a couple, at less than even money, that finished out of the money for him, too.
Just a real classy show and something a whole lot of the young hotshot drivers should be doing a lot more off!

Pierce was class incarnate, and is a huge talent. Just wish there were more people in the grandstand to appreciate him.
