After sustaining injuries last week during racing accidents at Century Downs, drivers Dave Kelly, Nathan Sobey and Daryl Thiessen have some new-found clarity as to their respective recoveries.

The four-year-old Mystery Chase mare Miss Itunes motored off a helmet to land at the finish first and take the $8,100 featured pace at Century Downs on Tuesday (May 25) at odds of 28-1.

Trot Insider has learned more regarding the statuses of drivers Daryl Thiessen, Nathan Sobey and Dave Kelly, all of whom were injured in accidents during recent racing activity at Century Downs.

With a mid-race brush to the top on a windy afternoon, Dontpokethedragon left the competition in his wake to romp in the $8,100 Open Pace on opening day at Century Downs Tuesday (May 18).

Live harness racing will be returning to Alberta next week after the province’s reopening process forced a delay to the 2021 season.

A quick glance at the 2021 race date calendar indicates that Alberta's harness racing industry was slated to resume activity this weekend. That launch will have to wait, according to officials.
