Making his first start out of his home state of Indiana, and paying $62,500 to do so, sophomore Freaky Feet Pete was one of last weekend's more impressive Breeders Crown elimination winners.

“This is as big as it gets. It all comes down to the Breeders Crown; that’s the old saying, but it’s the truth. Thankfully and luckily, I’ve been able to do well in it lately.”

“That is my No. 1 memory in the Breeders Crown, my first one. It was hard to win that first one. I drove her, too, and when she won it meant a lot to me. That to me was the most emotional.”

The sport’s brightest freshman stars were in the spotlight Friday evening at Woodbine Racetrack, but Saturday night belonged to the older divisions and the sophomore class.
