Ron Zane Passes

Horse owner Randy Zane has told Trot Insider that his father, fellow horse owner Ron Zane, passed away Friday

, March 4 at the age of 83.

Randy stated that Ron passed away after suffering a "massive heart attack" in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

"He will be remembered as an owner/horse lover for more than 30 years," said Randy. "He owned such great horses such as Lincoln Parke, Gimmebackmybullets and Giant Step Ron, and was involved in hundreds of horses and was always at the Hippodrome de Montreal auctions."

Randy also stated that Ron's input was always precious, and that he finished his days watching his horse Stong Hope racing live in Pompano.
