Thirteen-year-old stallion Taurus Dream passed away Tuesday, February 7 in France on his way to his new station in Sweden

.

In 2011 he stood in Ontario, where he covered 71 mares.

He had remarkable success in the last couple of years, especially with two fillies --- Crys Dream 3,1:53.2s ($1,267,302) and Iron Lady 3, 1:53.3 ($190,267). Taurus Dream had 55 starters, who had earned $3,441,315.

Taurus Dream, who was owned by legendary French horseman Jean Pierre Dubois in his Canadian stable, Reve Avec Moi, arrived in France a couple of weeks ago, but become ill and passed. He would have been at stud at the Valneviken Stud in Sweden this year.

In other sad stallion news, the 26-year-old Demilo Hanover passed away in Sweden. Demilo Hanover won 11 races, earned $395,042 and took a mark of 1:55.1 as a three-year-old at Springfield.

Demilo Hanover, who was sired by Super Bowl and out of Descent, never really took off as a sire in Europe, although he had some decent offspring.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of Taurus Dream and Demilo Hanover.

Taurus Dream - a true legend and a proven sire. My condolences to all that were associated with him. There are many stallions but only a handful are able to get horses to the races and he was one of them; He will truely be missed by all! I do have the pleasure of owning one of Taurus Dream's daughters and she is the best 3yr filly in the barn. We've been taking our time with her to ensure she will be at the finish line racing in New York this 2012 season. It seems like yesterday that I remember going to the yearling sale with my catalog all premarked by my father who had the Taurus Dream filly fully highlighted. But my father said "Don't bother looking at her because she will be out of your price range, girl". Well take a guess, she was the 1st filly I looked over at the sale and of course I fell in love. As luck would have it, she was the only horse that I bidded on and won! That evening I called my father, he was so excited that he wanted to fly out and drive us home! I told him that "Dreamme" and I would be just fine even though I was a nervous wreck driving over 300 miles with my dream horse on the trailer! But all turned out just fine. Yes, her nickname is "Dreamme" as we are hoping for dreams to come true. "God Bless".

No luck for a real champion,
I was there for the Hambletonina, bad drive and I have a large photo of, winning the elimination.
US and french mix, the success.

I read each day and look at the French races on internet.

The Dubois lost lot of time because it is said that all the stables were had a virus .

Poor way to die for a great champion and a great stallion.

Condolences to Reve Avec Moi Stables, He was a well known Stallion, A beautiful animal, and had some fantactic foals, I too had the pleasure of working with the stallion, and I really enjoyed standing him at my stables, he will be missed .
but not forgotten ,

Few horses have experienced the peripatetic lifestyle of Taurus Dream. He raced in Canada; began his career as a stallion in Quebec; was moved to New York; was moved again, this time to Indiana; then--in a curious move--he was taken back to Quebec; and he was subsequently relocated to Ontario. This would be considered a frantic itinerary for a twenty-five-year-old stallion, but he was only twelve when he finished up in Ontario.

The fact that he passed in France while en route to Sweden simply adds to the bizarre nature of his journey.

How sad. Taurus Dream was only thirteen and in his prime. My condolences to the connections of both stallions.
