Dick St. Amand Passes

Dick St. Amand (Frenchie) of Port Dover, previously of Burlington, who formerly drove the starting gate car at Flamboro Downs, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Nov. 26 in his 71st year

Beloved husband of Germaine. Loving father and father-in-law of Michael and Anita of Port Dover and Tammy and Joe Burtt of Hamilton. Cherished grandfather of eight and great grandfather of one. Dick will be sadly missed by his brothers, sisters and other extended family.

Before his retirement, he was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local 793 Hoisting Engineers. Dick was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He has worked as the crossing guard at Doverwood Public School and ran the carosel on Walker St.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, Lynn Park Rd., Port Dover. Father Stephen Savel and Father Gerald Dionne celebrants.

For those wishing, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Dick drove the starting gate for me at Flamboro and numerous fall fairs, I remember him for his happy go-lucky style. He always had a smile on his face and always had a joke to tell. I will miss him and so will the french fry trailer at the Simcoe Fair infield.

Dick was alwasys a happy go lucky man,if you were having a bad day he could always cheer you up.Im so sorry to hear of his passing,Our condolences to his family and friends

Dick always had a smile on his face whenever I saw him around Flamboro. He was a very friendly man who always said hello. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and friends.
