It has been reported that the United States Court of Appeal for the third circuit has denied Delaware's appeal which seeks the state be able to legally offer single-game wagering on professional sporting events
other than National Football League football.
Signed by Judge Thomas M. Hardiman -- who was on a three-judge panel that unanimously ruled against Delaware five weeks ago -- the ruling simply said “a majority’’ did not vote for a full “en banc’’ hearing before the 12 judges.
“I’m extremely disappointed,’’ said Bill Fasy, president of Delaware Park, which along with Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway spent a total of about $15 million on sports betting venues at their casinos. “In the big picture this is a blow to any potential growth in our already saturated market.’’
