Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Famer Dr. John Findley, who turns 95 years old today (Sept. 2) is recovering at home after an unexpected hospital stay sidelined him for the majority of the summer.

"He had a sudden drop in blood pressure, fell down backwards and hit his hip on the corner of a wall and injured his internal organs and hip," Findley's wife Mary Jane told Trot Insider. "There are no broken bones but he is now limited in movement not able to walk any distance. We are thankful to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital for their care and rehabilitation."

Enshrined in the Hall of Fame after an auspicious career that spanned four decades as a breeder, trainer/driver and veterinarian, Findley captured 13 different driving titles at various racetracks during his career. His last charted lines came in 2005 but he remains a familiar face at the Woodbine Mohawk Park qualifying sessions.

Sorry to hear that John was hospitalized but happy to see that he is back home. A great man. Happy Birthday John. Marianne and Richard.

John raced at the Arnprior Fair in about 1937.
From then to 2005 is almost 7 decades. He raced for all or part of those years.

Glad to hear he is doing better.
