It was recently announced that on October 27 Woodbine Entertainment Group thoroughbred racing analyst Jim Bannon will be inducted into the Etobicoke Sports Hall of Fame alongside six others, including decorated former National Hockey League forward Brendan Shanahan
.
In addition to his race analysis, Bannon, a fixture at WEG's Woodbine Racetrack, has worked as a guest analyst for CBC Television, covering the Queen's Plate, and is a director of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame.
Bannon has found success throughout his 35-year broadcasting career, and has also taught the Canadian Racing Officials Course for thoroughbred racing officials at Humber College.
Others that will be inducted alongside Bannon and Shanahan are Bob Harris, Brian Hoskins, Gerry Meehan, Ken Gibb and Ted Toogood.
The 16th annual Etobicoke Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner gala will be held at the Old Mill Inn and Spa.
