Standardbred Canada (SC) is excited to announce its inaugural event at the largest agricultural fair in Canada, The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), which will run from Aug. 15 to Sept. 1 in Toronto, Ont.
Visitors can check out the Standardbred Canada exhibit at ‘The Winner's Circle’ in the Agricultural Building (Better Living Centre) between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
Kids will have the opportunity to participate in a harness race of their own, using miniature wooden sulkies, on a miniature track suiting up in one of three custom made silks of James MacDonald, Doug McNair and Louis-Philippe Roy.
The team at SC has also developed a new virtual reality racebike simulator designed for both children and adults to enjoy while visiting the exhibit. This interactive ride will simulate the rush of driving a racehorse at full speed in 3D.
There will also be a trophy and TROT Magazine display showcasing championship moments from SC’s national events. Information tables will be staffed by team members ready to offer guidance, answer questions, and provide brochures.
The fun, however, doesn’t end there. As a follow-up, Junior Members (new sign-ups as well as current members) will be invited to attend three exclusive experiences:
- A day at the Grand River Raceway on Friday, Sept. 5 to experience live harness racing up close.
- A guided tour of Winbak Farm on Saturday, Sept. 13.
- A visit to a First Line Training Centre on Saturday, Sept. 28.
If these three unique and insightful opportunities to learn about the Standardbred industry pique are of interest, but your schedule unfortunately prevents you from attending the CNE in-person, there's no need to worry. Interested individuals can become a Junior Member and gain access to these follow-up events. To enroll, simply visit the Member Forms page on the SC website, with all the necessary documentation and instructions to complete the membership application. Questions can be directed to contact the Membership Department.
Standardbred Canada would like to thank all the industry partners and sponsors for their support of our CNE Exhibit:
