Blanchard In A Tutu?

Ever dream of race announcer Greg Blanchard wearing a pink tutu? Well, you can help make it a reality

.

As a friendly wager with Clinton Raceway Marketing Manager Jessica Carnochan, come Legends Day Blanchard could be donning a pink tutu while pulling Carnochan around the track on a sulky. Although, the tables could easily be reversed.

What started as idle chit chat has grown into a friendly wager to bring a little humor to the game.

“You see it all the time in other sporting industries, having to wear other team's jerseys, doing embarrassing things in the name of fun,” Carnochan stated. “We wanted to get the fans involved, and give them a chance to cast their vote, let them determine our fate!”

So it was decided.

Blanchard and Carnochan will flip a coin during the race card on Legends Day 2011. The winner will get first pick in the $20,000 Legends Trot. From there, it’s simple, whoever's horse crosses the finish line first will be declared the winner. The loser will then have to complete one of three tasks.

While the wager will take place on Legends Day, the actual redemption will happen during the final day of Clinton’s live season, Sunday, September 18, the 30th annual Charity Driver’s Challenge.

If Blanchard wins, Carnochan has to (the choices are as follows):

  1. Pull Blanchard around the track on a sulky, while wearing the pink tutu
  2. Stand on a picnic table and sing row, row, row your boat while eating two pink popsicles
  3. Call a race

If Carnochan wins, Blanchard must:

  1. Pull Carnochan around the track on a sulky, while wearing a pink tutu
  2. Stand in the grandstand and call a race while wearing the CR Trotter mascot costume
  3. Insert the word 'meow' into a race call 10 times

To cast your vote please email Jessica ([email protected]) or Greg ([email protected]) or visit Clinton Raceway’s Facebook page to vote online.

Ballots may also be cast on Sunday, September 4 at Clinton Raceway. Ballots can be obtained at the program table under the grandstand and must be submitted prior to Race 6.

Ken,

with Greg in a tutu, we may be seeing more then his handicapping first hand!

I agree Catharine, it could be quite traumatic for the youngsters! To say I'll be scouring Sunday's program trying to find the winner is a massive understatement! lol

I've seen Mr. Blanchard's handicapping first hand, and I clearly think he's in way over his head in this horse race.

So here's hoping he's legged up for getting "pinked" up.
