Thank you, Bill, for making
Thank you, Bill, for making it clear that COSA, OHHA and any other association are just that--not unions and should not be acting as such. Striking and other behaviours that we have condoned from OHHA is unacceptable to many of us. That is not what our membership is about. There are better ways to negotiate than to call strikes--very typical of how the teachers' union handles things. Mr. Walzak's past associations and influence appears to have led OHHA astray on many occasions when cooler heads should have prevailed. I've never belonged to a union and don't particularly want to.
This new association (COSA) appears to be an excellent option for those of us who have had our fill of the bullying, brainwashing, striking and beligerent attitude that has suffocated what was once a good association that represented all Ontario horsepeople. By the way, I really like the name--Central Ontario Standardbred Association. "Horsemen" always stuck in my craw.
I've got my application for membership filled out and ready to go into the mail if I can get an address for COSA.
