Pepsi North America Cup winner Captain Crunch was notably absent from the Adios Pace, which took place this weekend. Trainer Nancy Johansson has recently taken the time to provide an update on the millionaire son of Captaintreacherous.

Johansson recently discussed Captain Crunch with Dave Brower during an ‘In The Sulky’ interview at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Captain Crunch, who in June won the $1-million NA Cup in a Canadian record 1:47.2, last raced in the final of the Meadowlands Pace in New Jersey. He was beaten by less than one length in the Pace final after a gritty performance on the engine.

“He actually came up a little bit sick after the Meadowlands Pace, so we opted to not go to the Adios in order to give him some time to recuperate from that,” Johansson explained.

Johansson went on to say that Captain Crunch has since trained back well. As for the colt’s next destination, Johansson has said that it will be the Meadowlands, yet again.

“He’ll be ready for Hambo Day in the Cane Pace,” said Johansson.
