After 36 years of being one of New Jersey’s premier Standardbred training facilities, Showplace Farms will close its doors on October 1.
A statement from Showplace Farms follows:
We are proud to have been the training base for many of the industry’s leading trainers, owners and the countless horses who have won harness racing’s premier events.
Showplace, which can stable more than 425 Standardbred race horses, is located on 140 acres and is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities.
“It has been a good run,” said Bix DiMeo, General Manager. “But with fewer horses racing and the current economic climate here in New Jersey for harness racing, this business model no longer works for us.”

I was stabled at Showplace in their early years. It had the best track to train on in NJ by far, along with the best management team. Many of our equine champions were developed there. So sorry to read about your closing. Good luck Bix.
