The results have been tabulated from day one of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Sale, and they aren’t good

Monday’s opening session saw 125 horses from 217 offered sell for an average price of $71,468. The average sale price dropped 23.8 percent compared to last year, while the median dropped 33 percent. Ninety-two of the horses scheduled to sell failed to meet their reserves at the thoroughbred auction.
“I’m not happy about what happened today, but we had to expect this,” Fasig-Tipton Chairman and Auctioneer Walt Robertson said about Monday’s auction.
