Sharp Feet In Falcon Almahurst; Nisonger Scores 2,000

Sharp Feet took the final of the Falcon Almahurst series for pacers on Saturday night at Scioto Downs, pacing to a new mark of 1:55.4 in winning his third race of the season

Sharp Feet, driven by Sandy Beatty, paid $16.60 to win for owner Kenneth Briggs of Dayton, Ohio. Bob Burns trains the four-year-old. Mr Extravagant finished second while Swing To The Top grabbed the show dough.

Beatty moved Sharp Feet to the lead past the half-mile marker and drew off to win by 4-3/4 lengths. The odds-on favourite Zipsnapndrop finished fifth and second choice Maybeitwasmemphis broke stride and finished seventh.

Driver Jeff Nisonger picked up the 2,000th win of his career at Scioto on Saturday night, winning two of the evening’s first four races.

His milestone drive came behind heavily-favoured Leo Deo in the fourth race. Nisonger sent his pacer to the front at the start of the race and pulled away to win by 10-3/4 lengths in a time of 1:53-3/5.

He also won the second race, moving Ima Natural to the lead in the opening half-mile and leading the rest of the way. The sophomore son of Nobleland Sam scored in 1:58.1

Nisonger, 28, lives in Clarksville, Ohio.
