The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, which oversees the province's slots-at-racetracks program, announced this past week that it produced record revenues in 2010
.
A report by the Toronto Star explains that the OLG produced a profit of $2.068 billion last year. It also states that the profit is $193 million more than the previous year and that it is the largest yield since 2003.
“Management and employees set clear targets for providing measurable improvements to our business (and) they . . . exceeded them,” OLG President Rod Phillips was quoted as saying.
The Toronto Star quoted OLG Chair Paul Godfrey as saying, “this level of contribution is unique among provincial agencies, boards, and commissions.”
