On May 19, Rod Phillips was announced as the new president and CEO of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.
“The board is confident Rod is the right leader to continue our efforts toward improving performance, efficiency and cutting costs,” OLG Chairman of the Board Paul Godfrey was quoted as saying in a report by the National Post.
The OLG oversees Ontario's slots-at-racetracks program.
The report states that Phillips has been given the mandate of cutting organization costs, which, according to the OLG, would enable greater investments in Ontario’s hospitals, schools, charities and amateur sports.
Phillips did not specifically mention where the savings would come from, but that, “There’s a government-set objective with [regard] to savings and it’s a target of $200 million.”

Cutting costs? They really
Cutting costs? They really mean reducing staff which they have been doing for 5 years now.
