Although the Lakeshore Horse Raceway Group has yet to hear from the Ontario Racing Commission regarding the 10 days of live racing at the Leamington Fairgrounds that it has applied for, Tom Bain has said that he is "satisfied" that Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne will do her best to keep the industry going.

Bain's comments came yesterday (Wednesday, May 22) while Premier Wynne was in Windsor.

"I feel satisfied that she (Premier Wynne) is going to work hard to keep the horse-racing industry going," Bain was quoted as saying in a report by the CBC. "And that will mean our area here in southwestern Ontario."

"I just want everyone to know that I am committed to continuing to work with tracks to make sure that horse racing is viable across the province," Wynne said Wednesday.
