Whether you like it or not, social media is here to stay. The horse racing world knows all about Twitter and Facebook, as those in the industry tend to make their presence known on the mediums. Now, one racing outlet has created a framework for categorizing Twitter’s horse racing enthusiasts into one of 10 types.
In a piece penned for the South China Morning Post, writer Michael Cox has outlined ten different types of horse racing Twitter users, including ‘The Cheerleader,’ ‘The Cynic,’ ‘The Antognist,’ ‘The Jockey Bagger,’ and also ‘The Old Person That Doesn’t Understand How To Use Twitter.’
For example, Cox candidly describes The Jockey Bagger, in part, as being an ‘odious little troll.’ He went on to write that he won’t dignify them with too much profiling, as the name is self-explanatory. ‘The Jockey Bagger blames jockeys for supposed failings with seemingly no appreciation of the inherent risks associated with riding 500-kilogram animals, in close proximity to each other at more than 60 kilometers per hour,’ he wrote.
