Trainer John MacMillan joined the eight-figure club on Thursday night (March 16) at Flamboro Downs when one win pushed him past $10 million in career earnings.
The victory came from Dylans Bank, the longest shot on the board at 22-1 who sat a pocket trip and zipped to a head victory in a $6,900 conditioned pace. MacMillan entered the night just under $3,000 shy of the plateau and crept over it also with thanks to a fourth-place finish from stablemate Montysgonemarble. MacMillan also owns the victorious six-year-old gelding by Thinking Out Loud.
MacMillan has competed at racetracks across Ontario and Quebec since 2000. He has won 1,745 races from more than 9,000 starts. His best year came in 2007 when he trained 184 winners and just missed the million mark with $974,629 in purses.
