It is expected that legislation will be introduced early next week which will call for a statewide referendum regarding the introduction of slot-machine gaming for Maryland's Prince George’s County, home to Rosecroft Raceway

.

A report by The Washington Examiner explains that a stipulation to Senator Douglas J.J. Peters' bill would be that a majority of positive votes from county residents would be essentially for the expansion to move forward.

“My personal opposition to slots should not get in the way of what people want to do,” said Senator Peters, who is personally against the idea of the gaming expansion.
