It has been reported that Rosecroft Raceway has been approved for a total of 54 live harness-racing dates, to be held during two separate meets during the 2012 season
.
An article by The Washington Informer has explained that the initial meet will run from March 10 to June 2. The other meet will be hosted from October to December.
The report explains that the 54 live race-dates will be the most at the track since 2007. The dates were approved by the state commission on January 17.
"We were very excited to reopen Rosecroft Raceway in 2011 – first for simulcasting in late August and then for the 20-night live harness meet last fall. It delivered on our promise to bring this important economic asset back to life for Prince George's County and we were gratified by the positive response by our guests and horsemen," Penn National Gaming, Inc. Vice President of Racing Chris McErlean was quoted as saying. "We are hoping to capitalize on that momentum for more success in 2012."
