Dr. Paul Hogan of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission gave Trot Insider an update today on the possible strangles outbreak at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia.
Dr. Hogan said that the first test of test results came back negative for the respiratory disease and that the barn which was quarantined will continue to be under quarantine until they have two more negative tests. In that barn, there's 11 horses affected by the quarantine.
After consulting with veterinarians, Truro Raceway will host live racing Sunday, December 21 and will allow ship-ins.
