‘Outdoor’ Slots At Standardbred Track

One way to help convert slots customers into horseplayers would be to bring them closer to the on-track action. One harness track appears to be doing just that.

According to a brief article by the Albany Business Review, the Saratoga Casino Hotel has broken ground on an 1,800-square-foot outdoor gaming area that will house 50 slot machines close to the track.

The article states that the gaming terrace will also feature infrared heating units that will allow patrons to even use the area in the colder months.

Ground was broken on the project last week.

Saratoga is currently in the midst of a meet of live racing

Great idea don't sit around and whistle dixie, bring out new ideas or croak. In order to receive, you got to give a little. How about giving away a new car every night - lets say at $2.00 a ticket the chance of winning is one in lets say 3500 patrons. A lot better then the lotto at one in 65 million. Give away a cruise, do something. Where is the marketing dept, where is the adv dept?

Sounds like a great idea. I like it because people can then do both and if as a couple only one likes the races , it offers a compromise and can still spend the time together. Certainly worth a shot.
