The $15,000 Preferred Trot at Georgian Downs has been dominated in recent weeks by Mystical Ryan, and it was more of the same in Tuesday evening’s edition
of the class.
In fact, the winning effort was the fifth consecutive score in the class for Mystical Ryan who front-stepped his way to a 1:56.1 tally for driver Mario Baillargeon and trainer Baillargeon.
Mario hustled the six-year-old son of Striking Sahbra to the early lead, and once he cleared to the top it was game over for everyone else. Fractions of :28, :58 and 1:27.4 were thrown down by the gelding before he finished off his foes with a :28.2 final frame. Runner-up Kan Wire rallied to get to within a half-length of the winner and Mystic Conquest rounded out the top three.
Mystical Ryan, who is now a 24-time winner in his career, is now 9-for-30 this season. He has stashed away more than $127,000 this season and close to $430,000 to date.
