Those interested in the status of the last harness racing license in the State of Pennsylvania and the proposed Valley View Downs racetrack/entertainment complex are going to have to wait longer to get an update on the situation
.
According to a report by vindy.com, attorney Maureen McBride, who represents Valley View Downs’ parent company, Centaur LLC, spoke yesterday during a Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission meeting in Harrisburg.
American Harness Tracks is the group that in October won the auction for Pennsylvania's final harness racing license, which Centaur has been forced to relinquish. American Harness Tracks and Centaur are now waiting for the Delaware bankruptcy court to officially 'okay' the bid and sign off on it.
According to the report, the bankruptcy court has tentatively set December 13 as the date for 'final action' on the bid. The PHRC yesterday said that the successful bidder will have until December 31 to file a preliminary application for transfer of the harness racing license if it wishes to do so.
