According to reports, the winner of the auction for the State of Pennsylvania's final harness racing license has

been announced.

An article by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette states that Centaur Inc. announced this afternoon that American Harness Tracks, LLC was the winning bidder, as it bid $5.6 million for the project.

An article by the Beaver County Times cites Centaur as saying that the offer is an "as-is, where-is" bid, which means the company is committed to building the proposed Valley View Downs racetrack/casino complex in Mahoning Township, PA. The bid is subject to approval by bankruptcy court in Delaware, and the state Harness Racing Commission.
