The Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship draws competitors from all across the country. In the crosshairs for today’s installment of SC's player profiles is Jack Beaton of Charlottetown, PEI

.

Beaton has been a racing fan for over 25 years and is looking forward to his very first trip to Rideau Carleton Raceway. With a grand prize of $25,000 on the line, we’re sure he’ll be sharpening his handicapping skills for this night of racing.

Here’s the inside scoop on Beaton.

  • Favourite Racetrack – Charlottetown Driving Park
  • Favourite Driver – Gary Chappell
  • Favourite Stakes Race – Gold Cup and Saucer
  • Favourite Horse of All Time – Basinview Albert
  • Favourite Celebrity – Charles Darwin
  • Favourite Food – Homemade Beans
  • Interests/Hobbies – Fly fishing & Jazz

Beaton is excited for his trip to Ontario and is looking forward to spending the weekend at the beautiful Ottawa Marriott and taking in some of the local sights. His plans for the $25,000 should he be astute enough to get the job done? He’d like to “make someone’s day."
