With the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship only a month away it’s time to feature some of our players who will be vying for the estimated $25,000 grand

prize.

Trot Insider had the chance to get up close and personal with some of the players and is able to share just what makes these contenders tick.

First up on our roster is Don Sproxton, a retired fire fighter and longtime race fan.

  • Favourite Racetrack – Mohawk
  • Favourite Driver – Trevor Ritchie
  • Favourite Food – Apple Pie and Cheese
  • Favourite Celebrity – Mike Weir
  • Favourite Horse of all Time – Most Happy Fella

Sproxton is a true race fan and a familiar face around the track. He is excited about the chance to win the biggest payout of his life, and with a 1-in-50 chance, Sproxton's odds just got better. He plans to re-invest in the sport if he should happen to win -- he said that he would like to invest in a racehorse if he cashes the big ticket.

The third annual TCNHC will be held on Sunday, November 8 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

If you are interested in taking part in this exciting championship you are in luck, as there are still a few spots remaining.
