Favoured Up And Quick and driver Jean-Michel Bazire were victorious in the 2015 Prix d'Amerique on Sunday at Paris-Vincennes.

As the standing start commenced, Mosaique Face (Pierre Vercruysse) took the early lead with Napoleon Bar (Enrico Bellei) in the pocket followed by Solvato (Örjan Kihlström).

Bazire was the first up to challenge the leader and applied constant pressure, with Timoko (Björn Goop) on his helmet.

Around the final turn, Maven (Yannick Gingras) was making a five-wide bid and went offstride, an automatic disqualification in France. Voltigeur de Myrt (Gabriele Gelormin) was four-wide and loaded with trot turning for home and was stride for stride with Up And Quick as Mosaique Face started to fade.

Gelormin dropped Voltigeur de Myrt behind Up And Quick in the stretch as Bazire started to edge away, winning by more than a length over Voltigeur de Myrt with Timoko completing the top three.

Its so tough for american and canadian horses to go those big trips they are not used to this pressure a whole different racing.
I remember years ago in montreal we had a program with french trotting mares that were bought for breeding purposes. They had a series of stakes at different distances. I had one that won them all. I couldnt drive her bad - she was tough as nails ,,lol
