Mohawk Getting Creative For Spring

Around this time of year, virtually all those racing on the Woodbine Entertainment Group circuit cannot wait to get back to Mohawk Racetrack. Live racing will return to the Campbellville, Ont. oval on May 20

, but what many may not know is that there are going to be live performances of a different sort there earlier in the spring as well.

Trot Insider has learned that WEG has finalized a deal which will see Working Real Productions present 'dinner theatre' on multiple dates throughout April and May. There is also a possibility that the performances could take place at the picturesque racetrack this coming fall, as well.

One of the goals of the endeavour is to further expose new customers to the racetrack.

Trot Insider has learned that the majority of the shows will be staged during evenings, but there will be matinees, as well.

Shows are scheduled to be taking place April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 24, 25 and 30.

Shows are also scheduled for May 1, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 20, 22, 28 and 29.

This is a great promotional idea that provides an excellent opportunity to attract a new fan base. I wish Mohawk great success with this promotion that will provide them with a valuable new mailing list that will in turn allow them to send out promotional materials and mailings to promote future events at Mohawk. Maybe we will see an even bigger crowd for North America Cup night with all the new dinner theatre fans in attendance?

Congratulations once again and good luck!

thinks this is a Great idea. The more diverse the track is the more likely we are to attract new enthusiasts. This is what ALL tracks MUST do in order to survive and grow its base population. The sooner ALL the other tracks realize this the better. Let's just hope it's not too late before they realize!
