Dr. Chris Robson, veterinarian and co-founder of Ilderton Equine Services, has been nominated as the Ontario Progressive Conservative candidate for the London-Fanshawe riding.

Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak congratulated Robson on his nomination as the Ontario PC candidate on Thursday. Hudak applauded and thanked Robson for his unwavering focus on reducing the size and cost of government and kick-starting the economy to create private-sector jobs.

“Chris understands what we need to build a better future, and the families in London-Fanshawe can count on him to represent their priorities,” said Hudak. “While the government continues to deepen Ontario’s economic crisis, the Ontario PC Party is promoting solutions to create new jobs and rein in government spending.”

“Better days are ahead for London and Ontario, but only if we get our fiscal house in order and our economic fundamentals back in line in the face of reckless overspending and an ongoing jobs crisis,” said Robson. “Tim Hudak and the Ontario PC Party have made a series of strong, principled proposals that will create hope for the nearly 600,000 unemployed Ontarians and put our province on the road to recovery – while the Liberal-NDP budget continues putting Ontario on the road to a $30 billion deficit with reckless overspending.

“We need fiscally responsible policies that will encourage growth and put us on the path to prosperity,” stated Robson, noting several specific Ontario PC plans for private sector job growth, which include:

• Balancing the budget to encourage businesses to expand and hire
• Cutting taxes to encourage job creation
• Treating affordable energy as a cornerstone of economic growth
• A more flexible and responsive approach to regulation, and
• More skilled trade jobs by modernizing the apprenticeship system.

Dr. Robson is a father of two and has been a veterinarian in the London area for the past 34 years. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1977 and co-founded Ilderton Equine Services in 1979, which is located on his family's farm. He is a licenced commission veterinarian with the Ontario Racing Commission.
