The nine-year-old son of Artiscape jetted to the front from Post 8 in his $17,000 conditioned assignment for trainer/driver Roger Mayotte, who rolled gelding through splits of :27, :56.3 and 1:25 before using a :27.4 closing quarter to secure the 1:52.4 victory at Woodbine Racetrack.
Escape The Wind, who is owned by the Venture 2000 Stable of Mississauga, ON, is creeping closer to another major milestone. His victory on Sunday leaves him just $44,836 shy of $2 million in lifetime earnings.
Throughout the course of his career Escape The Wind has captured a number of major stake events such as the Bluegrass, the Tattersalls, the Provincial Cup, the Graduate Series, the American National and the Woodbine Gold Cup.
