With the Breeders Crown countdown at just four weeks, The Meadowlands will feature the simulcast of The Little Brown Jug and live Kindergarten Series action this weekend as it concludes the September portion of the Fall race meeting with 12-race programs Friday (Sept. 24) and Saturday (Sept. 25) that kick off at 6:20 p.m.
Live racing will go dark at The Big M for three weeks at the conclusion of this Saturday’s card and will return on Friday, Oct. 22, a program that will feature eliminations for the Crown. Crown elims will continue on October 23 before the big-money finals take place on October 29-30.
As usual, simulcasting, as well as sports betting at the FanDuel Sportsbook, will continue at The Big M during the break.
“All of us at The Meadowlands are excited to have the Breeders Crown back at our track for the first time since 2016,” said Meadowlands’ Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. “And this Friday, we have six divisions of the Kindergarten for two-year-olds. Last week, we saw many superb performances from horses in the series, many of whom will also be racing in the Crown.”
While The Big M knows a thing or two about hosting a big day at the races, the Delaware, Ohio County Fairgrounds has a big one on tap today (Thursday, Sept. 23), as the half-mile oval in the Buckeye State hosts the 76th Little Brown Jug.
Fans can watch and wager on all the action in one of the leading simulcast facilities in all of racing, the one located in the grandstand at The Big M.
Racing fans will be back jamming the fairgrounds, 12 months after a Jug Day that saw silent stretch drives thanks to COVID-19. The eliminations for The Jug are Races 16 and 17 and the top four finishers from each will return for the final – the last race on the marathon program – which is Race 20.

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: The Carolina Panthers and new quarterback Sam Darnold will attempt to stay perfect in three games this season when they travel to Houston for a Thursday (Sept. 23) night NFL matchup with the Texans. Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m.
For those who like to bet and watch football, all they need to do is head to The Meadowlands, where, in the grandstand is The FanDuel Sportsbook, which is the No. 1 facility of its kind in the country.
For those who think the ex-Jet Darnold can stay on a roll, the Panthers are -7½ (-120) on the point spread and -405 on the money line.
Will Darnold throw for more or less than 258½ yards? Whichever way you like it, the odds are -114.
The hours of operation for the sportsbook are Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-1 a.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-2 a.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.-midnight.
