In a joint effort between Eldorado Scioto Downs, Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, and the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, Scioto Downs is extending its race meet one week. Instead of closing the weekend before Labour Day, closing night will now be on Saturday, September 12.

"Scioto agreeing to host what would have been our opening week will allow us to keep our purses close to 2019 levels," explained Jason Bluhm, Dayton's director of racing. "We look forward to starting our race season on September 13 as we host the Montgomery County Fair at 1 p.m."

"We're happy to host our horsemen for an additional week of racing," said Jason Roth, Scioto's director of racing. "The purses will continue to follow the Scioto purse structure. We've had a very good meet, considering everything that has happened in 2020, that allows us to work with Dayton and extend our racing season."

The schedule for the last two weeks of racing is Tuesday-Friday (Sept. 1-4), Sunday, September 6 and Wednesday-Saturday (Sept. 9-12), all with a 6:15 p.m. first post.

'Super Night,' featuring the eight Ohio Sire Stakes finals for $300,000 each and the $100,000 #SendItIn Invitational Pace, will be held Sunday, September 6. The box for Super Night will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 2) with a live draw to be held during the Wednesday evening races for the Ohio Sires Stakes Finals and the #SendItIn Invitational Pace.

Due to the health and safety of Scioto's guests and team members, Ohio Super Night will be open to the public but, will have limited capacity for spectators to comply with the Ohio Department of Health order to limit/prohibit mass gatherings in the state of Ohio.

The box schedule for the additional week of racing is as follows:

Race Day (Box Closes)
Wednesday, Sept 9 (3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 5)
Thursday, Sept 10 (10 a.m. on Monday, Sept 7)
Friday & Saturday, Sept 11 & 12 (double draw 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept 8)
