Dusty Lane Milo has the biggest prize of his career in his sights Thursday evening (Sept. 3) in the $17,250 Brian Andrew Memorial at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The CDP's 13-dash Thursday program will get underway at 6 p.m. Dusty Lane Milo has been installed as the the morning line favourite for the Brian Andrew Memorial, which is for two-year-old trotters and has been carded as Race 5.

Dusty Lane Milo, who is set to start from Post 3, is coming into the stakes event off of a maiden-breaking win last week for the combination of trainer Ron Gass and driver Adam Merner. Marsha Knox of Stanhope holds the ownership papers on the fledgling son of Tad The Stud–Muscle Mannequin.

Dusty Lane Milo will be looking to fend off six rivals in the Brian Andrew Memorial. A Little Go Go has been installed as the second morning line choice from Post 1 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell, and the Tad The Stud colt will be looking for his first lifetime victory when he faces the gate. Treasureonthewater, who also hails from the Campbell barn, is set to start from Post 4. Brodie MacPhee is scheduled to be in the bike for new owners Debbie and Greg Francis of Sweets Corner, N.S.

The 'Post Time Picks' for Thursday’s card calls for Dusty Lane Milo to land on top in the stakes event. “Dusty Lane Milo was sent to the point and never looked back winning in 2:04.1. We think Adam will be calling the shots again tonight and if they do set up shop on the front end they could double up.”

Other entries are Rainbow Valley (to be driven by Paul Larrabee), Rich Daydreams (Kenny Arsenault), Camco Lexie (Brian MacPhee) and First One Here (Jason Hughes).

The third leg of the Island Oceans Trot Classic, which is for aged trotting mares and presented by JD Marine And Diving Inc., will also be contested during the midweek program, as a pair of $3,950 splits have been carded as Race 1 and Race 3. Daisy River will be looking for redemption in the first division, as the former Maritime champion will be resuming her profitable partnership with driver Hughes. William Lanigan of Montague owns and trains the five-year-old daughter of Nikes Image.

Divisional favourite Hop Up is set to contest the second of the Island Ocean Trot splits. The six-year-old daughter of Tad The Stud will face the starter with driver Corey MacPherson for owner/trainer Keith Campbell of Victoria West. Hop Up is the fastest Maritime-bred trotting mare ever on the east coast of Canada by virtue of her August 13 victory at the CDP that was clocked in 1:57.4.
