Scioto Downs is planning on capping off its season of racing with an exhilarating evening of racing on Saturday, September 27, which is Ohio Super Night.
After a summer season with the enriched slot money from Ohio's long-awaited VLTs, Ohio Super Night will cap off the season with the richest night of racing in Ohio history. Total purses for the night will be in excess of $2 million.
The card will offer eight sires stakes for the state’s top juveniles and sophomores of each sex and gait. Each final will offer a purse of $200,000.
Scioto Downs will also feature the Jim Ewart Memorial Invitational Pace for a bounty of $200,000.
Scioto Downs will honour two fellow horsemen with The Chip Noble Memorial Trot, racing for a purse of $75,000, and The Ryder ‘Storm Boy’ Steck Memorial Pace, which will offer a $50,000 purse.
Scioto Downs didn't forget about the powerful ladies, either. The best mares will go stride for stride in a $50,000 Filly and Mare Open Pace.
