Dayton's COVID-19 Protocols

In order to begin racing from Hollywood Dayton Raceway’s modern paddock, several assurances to state regulators were necessary.

Beginning Sunday, September 13 with the Montgomery County Fair and throughout the 74-day regular meet, there will be strict restrictions on the number of people permitted in the 14-race paddock at any one time.

After unloading the horses into their proper stalls, people will be required to stay outside the paddock (with the exception of a quick lasix administration window) until one and a half hours prior to their race. Only one person is permitted to attend to each horse and that person must also leave the paddock within half an hour after the horse races.

All persons in the paddock must wear masks and practice social distancing. All owners, trainers, warm-up drivers and others must stay on the outdoors apron, in the grandstand or in their vehicles. No more than a dozen drivers can occupy the drivers’ room at a time.

All horsepeople are asked to comply fully with the COVID-19 protocols, which are outlined in further detail on fliers that will be available at check-in. With full cooperation, it is hoped Hollywood Dayton can continue to race its full meet from now until the end of December.
