The connections of 17 aged mares have entered their charges to contest a pair of $3,362 second-leg divisions of the Erwin Andrew Memorial Pacing Series, which will be contested Sunday, July 24 at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia
.
The first division, which has been carded as Race 10, will feature a field of eight. The six-year-old Wade Sorrie-trained Goliath Bayama mare Onehotvett (PP2, G. Barrieau, 5-2) has been named the morning line choice. The black distaffer will be looking to extend her unbeaten streak to three, as she has recently triumphed in a pair of late-closing events at Summerside Raceway.
The second division, which has been carded as Race 12, will house a nine-horse field. The 10-year-old Angus MacLean-trained Cambest mare Abby Best (PP2, T. Trites, 5-2) has been given the early nod. She will be looking for her 60th career victory when things get underway Sunday. Abbey Best triumphed in the opening round of the Erwin Andrew, as she went wire-to-wire to win by a neck in 1:59.3 June 25 at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
