TrackMaster Past Performance programs, including the standard, platinum and pace printed versions, have all been upgraded to include additional information related to horse breeding.
“How certain horses meet conditions for particular races has prompted a number of inquiries from our customers over the years,” TrackMaster President David Siegel stated. “There was no way to tell how some horses met certain breeding-related conditions of a race for entry. So over the last several years, we have built a home-grown database of all state or provincial (for Canada) registered sires and their stud fees.”
TrackMaster products now include this information in all their PDF past performance products. Next to the sire’s name is the location (state or province) where the sire was officially registered when the horse was conceived. In addition, the mare location (state or province or foreign country) at time of foaling as reported by USTA or Standardbred Canada is shown.
Siegel further explained, “Since so many jurisdictions now have allowances for locally sired horses, we have developed a special symbol which is placed right after the horses name (an encircled 'S' for 'state sired') so players can tell at a glance that the horse was a product of a locally standing sire. These two additions will take some of the mystery out of how conditions are met and how certain claiming prices are calculated”
Also included as part of this upgrade, trainer-horse statistics have been added to the Platinum 12 line extra format. “We already display driver with horse and driver with trainer combination statistics to help handicappers judge the performance of those working relationships,” remarked harness racing product manager Greg Robinson. “Based on customer feedback we also thought it made sense to show stats related to how well a trainer and a particular horse work together.”
