It has been announced that Ken Warkentin, the voice of harness racing at New Jersey's Meadowlands Racetrack, will be visiting Hanover Raceway on
September 3.
The native of Toronto graduated from Seneca College's Radio and TV Broadcasting program and got his first start in harness racing by announcing at Ontario fairs (Markham and Sunderland). His first paying job was as Elmira Raceway's announcer before moving on to Flamboro Downs and then the Meadowlands.
Warkentin, who has had the opportunity to work on television broadcasts on NBC, CBS and ESPN including the American Championship Harness Series, will announce a few races at Hanover on September 3 and will do some emceeing and talk to racing fans.
