Trot Insider has learned that officials with Century Downs have cancelled the Saturday (May 20) card of harness racing at the Calgary area oval.
Races and qualifiers for Saturday were cancelled due to poor air quality as a result of wildfires in western Canada. Environment Canada issued a special Air Quality Statement for the City of Calgary and north into Rocky View County, indicating that smoke is causing poor air quality and reduced visibility at times.
An update on the stakes races scheduled for the Saturday card will be posted when available.
